How does the booking process work?

Weddings: After we have met (via Skype or in-person) and you decide to go ahead and book your wedding photography, you will receive an online contract, invoice and questionnaire. The booking fee is $500, which comes off the total owing. The booking fee secures your wedding photography.

Portraits: A $150 booking fee reserves your date. This comes off the total owing. There is no need for a pre-session consultation, however, you may wish to view and discuss portrait products prior to your session.

How are the images delivered?

Weddings: You receive high resolution images on a USB which are posted to you. The number of images is dependent on the Wedding Photography Collection that you book.

Portraits: You select and download your high resolution images via an online gallery. You will receive an invitation to the gallery and will be prompted to download the images to your computer. Once on your computer, you can print as you please (as long as you adhere to the contract terms and conditions). You also have the option of purchasing a USB in a wooden keepsake box for $95 posted.

How long does it take to get the images?

Weddings: Wedding images will be ready for delivery to you on your USB 6-8 weeks from the date of your wedding (a sneak peak on social media is provided a day or two after your wedding). I do try to get them to you much faster, but it depends on workload. I know you can’t wait to see them!

Portraits: You will receive an invitation to the online gallery via email to select your favourite images within 21 days from the date of your session. A rush fee of $99 is available which ensures you will receive your images sooner.

Do you edit the photos?

Weddings and Portraits: Yes! I adjust contrast, exposure and make a few custom tweaks to ensure consistency in the images I produce. I provide simple complimentary edits for aspects such as pimples, bruises and scratches. Refer to your contract for any further adjustments. I do not provide black and white and colour duplicates of all of your photos. I ask that you trust my selection and creative eye. In saying that, however, if there’s some photos that you’d like converted to colour or black and white – check with me. Please note that you cannot edit the images yourself (RAW/unedited files are not handed out). This includes putting a “filter” over the edited images or printing out colour images in black and white. This is to ensure consistency of the Murphy Photography brand.

Do you travel for sessions?

Weddings: Travel is included 40km from Burnie. Outside of this area, a travel fee does apply.

Portraits: Travel is included in the local area (North-West Coast of Tasmania). Outside of this a travel fee will apply. If you get a couple of friends to book sessions on the same day as yours, you can split the travel fees!

Do you have insurance, back-up gear and an ABN?

Weddings and Portraits: Yes, yes and yes! I have public liability insurance and all of my gear is also insured. I have backup equipment with me at all times. If your venue needs to see a copy of the insurance policy, just let me know and I can send it through.

How far in advance should we book you?

Weddings: I take bookings 12 months in advance. If you inquire earlier than this, we can meet and chat about your wedding day. I can then “pencil” you in to have first preference of the date when bookings open.

Portraits: I can usually fit you in at short notice before the busy season hits, but weekends usually book out quickly for the summer months. Essentially, the sooner the better.

What days do you work?

Weddings and Portraits: Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. I can swap around work days if required to suit you.

Can we view the photo products you have?

Weddings and Portraits: You sure can! Just make an appointment with me to come and view my photo products in my seaside home studio. If you prefer, I can bring samples with me to your portrait session.

Can we order photo products after our session / wedding?

Weddings and Portraits: Yes! You can order photo products at any stage – whether before or anytime after your session.
